Listening to ... Ayumi Hamasaki - Ballad

I'm such a good girl.. decided to skip the disney fair at ViVoCity and came home to blog instead (Yeah right! LOL)

Truth is, stiff neck is bothering me so much till I can't even drive properly =( Couldn't turn my head to the right to check blind spots, so I chose to head home early.. on a freaking Saturday night! Damn.

Since I'm home might as well revive my dead blog. Haha.

Attended my cousin's wedding dinner at Swissotel The Stamford. We arrived early and caught the Barbie performance.

At least the performers were all Caucasians. It would be silly if they used an Asian girl to dress up as Barbie =\ Ken was one handsome dude! Really look like the doll itself. Lols~ Didn't manage to get a pic of him coz he's always dancing around on stage.

Sarah look so ke lian~ Haha~

At the reception - An ice sculpture with fruits for us

They served grapes with seeds and sour strawberries. Not a single bin in sight for us to throw the seeds. Zzzz.... -___-"

Sarah's so fascinated with the sculpture

Dinner started really late and I had to curb my hunger with grapes till I didn't have much appetite left for the actual meal =X

Wedding favours - magnet (left), coaster (right)

My cousin was on a one year waiting list in order to hold his banquet at Stamford. Not worth the wait I'd say coz the food sucks. Either I had high expectations coz it's Stamford, or the food really sucks big time. The dishes were so salty, I drank so much water! But I think also maybe coz there were too many dinners on that evening - all the ballrooms were booked o.O~!

My cousin hired (I think) a couple to sing while we "enjoy" the food...

They sang really well at least that compensated for the food.

My uncle got papers from don't know where and folded a crane and rooster. He's really good at origami! The rooster looks pretty complicated to fold.

Halfway through dinner, we were given this....

 A knife.

We thought we're going to be served steak or something. In the end the knife was meant for this....

 Abalone!

It sucks too. Like the rest of the dishes. Bleah~

Sarah got bored, grabbed my camera and started snapping away.

She took a pic of me

I snapped back. Lols~

Out of so many shots, here's one she took that incidentally turned out pretty nice..

Hehe. Good huh?

It was finally time for dessert. I was so looking forward to it!

Mango sago with longan

Ooohhh mango and saaagoooooooo my fave~! They can't possibly screw this up. Haha~

It turned out great. Sarah and I helped ourselves to two servings each =D~

Out of so many wedding dinners I've attended so far, Oriental serves the best food! Both lunch and dinner. Multiple thumbs up~ Haha!

*****

My company's Global Rewards Director came to visit us from UK and brought gifts for us!

Tea from Harrods, scented pillows from Raffles Hotel and a card adding a personalized touch to the gifts. He was so sweet. We only interacted with him for a short while and he actually made effort to find out our names, addressed the cards to us and gave us the gifts individually. Such a thoughtful man~

Since he was in town wiith another colleague from UK, we had an early xmas celebration.

Our local boss chose to have buffet dinner at Ellenbourgh Market Cafe at Merchant Court Swissotel coz they serve very nice DURIAN paste as one of the desserts -_____-" The durian smell wasn't very offensive though. Only managed to smell a whiff of it once in a while. Lucky not enough to ruin my appetite for the buffet ~ Phew ~

Seems like many people raved about the durian paste there and my colleagues all agreed that it was good. Maybe you durian lovers out there can go there and give it shot. Hehe.

We wanted to just grab a bear each and run off. Lols~

It was pretty unique to see stuffed teddies instead of the usual fake presents at the foot of the christmas tree. Nice change~ =)
